SBFL160 Now Available with Rechargeable LiFePO₄ Battery Technology

 In News

We are pleased to introduce the new LFP16-135 rechargeable LiFePO₄ battery, a sustainable power solution designed for aquaculture and marine lighting applications. Customers can now order the SBFL 160 fish farm lantern package with the rechargeable battery, providing a complete solution for operators looking to reduce battery waste and lower the life-time cost.

Reducing Battery Waste in Fish Farming Operations

Fish farm operators rely on marker lights to maintain safe and compliant operations around their fish cages. Sabik SBFL160 Marker Light is especially designed for this task. Traditionally, these lights have been powered by primary batteries that must be periodically replaced, requiring operators to purchase, transport, and responsibly dispose of used batteries throughout the life of the installation.

The new LFP16-135 rechargeable battery offers a different approach. Built on proven LiFePO₄ technology, the battery can be recharged and reused, significantly reducing the number of batteries consumed over the marker light’s lifetime. This helps operators lower waste generation and support their sustainability objectives without compromising reliability in demanding marine environments.

Retrofit to existing installations or order a complete package

The new rechargeable battery can be retrofitted into all current SBFL160 installations.

To make adoption even easier, the SBFL160 Marker Light can now be purchased as a full package with either the rechargeable battery or the primary battery. Both combinations provide fish farm operators with a reliable marker light solution, while the rechargeable one is reducing the administrative and logistical burden associated with ordering replacement batteries and managing end-of-life disposal.

Benefits for Fish Farm Operators

  • Fewer batteries consumed over the lifetime of the installation.
  • Reduced waste and a smaller environmental footprint.
  • Supports sustainability initiatives and ESG objectives.
  • Less time spent sourcing and purchasing replacement batteries.
  • Reduced burden of handling and disposing of used batteries.
  • Lower total cost over lifetime.
  • Reliable operation in harsh marine and offshore environments.
